Mitzi and I drove back from Arco yesterday morning, the two of us listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on our respective iPods (Mitzi makes more time for reading than I do and was quite a bit further along) and went to our doctor's appointment with our new Boise baby doctor. We had been in Arco so Mitzi could learn how to bottle peaches from her mom in an effort to increase our emergency preparedness/food storage know how. We are now the proud owners of over a dozen bottles of peaches--the beginnings of what will one day become a grand food storage arsenal. Anyway, we went out to dinner and then crashed, dreaming of a "lazy Saturday" on the morrow.
Well, our Saturday didn't end up being all that lazy; I washed the cars (still filthy from their long journeys to Idaho) and Mitzi vacuumed and cleaned the house. Mitzi then lamented to me the sad state of her current wardrobe--made considerably smaller due to her enlarging pregnant belly. So we decided to go shopping. It ended up being a fantastic experience. Not only did we manage to save $71 on our haul at Old Navy (we got everything for at least half-off), but the Old Navy here was superior to the one in Orem for so many reasons. First, it was larger and had a much better selection. Second, it is much more convenient. Third, and most importantly, we were there on a Saturday afternoon and there were only about 30-40 other people in the whole store. Compare that to the seeming 80-100+ people that seemed jammed into the smaller Orem Old Navy around the clock, and it made for an overall fantastic shopping experience by comparison. We didn't have to wait in line for a cashier, we didn't have to wait in line at the dressing room, and we got a parking place right by the front door. Now, this may sound like an event easily dismissed as a freakish coincidence, but don't even get me started on Walmart. It seemed like Walmart in Orem was even busier on Wednesday night at 11:30pm as this Walmart was at 5:00pm on a Saturday. Again, we didn't even have to wait in line for a cashier--and there was a free cashier in the line next to us. We'd gotten used to catching up on our celebrity gossip as a way to pass the time while waiting for a cashier in Orem or Springville, but the way things look here, it seems like I'll never find out where Brad and Angelina's next kid is being adopted from.
In other news, we're heading out on our second day of house hunting with Hart on Monday. We already have a prospect that we really like, and a couple of runners-up, but we still have quite a few candidates to go through. I've taken some video of the homes we've seen thus far and I'll try to post some of it soon for you to take a look at. Best wishes from the Gem State!
